The original painting from which this print was taken was commissioned by the Chief
Petty Officers Association at RAF Molesworth, England in honour of their good friend
CPO Joe Pearson USN (Ret) who served aboard LST 306. The painting
commemorates the service and sacrifice of all those who served aboard LST's during
and after World War Two.
On June 6th 1944 Chief Petty Officer Joe Pearson was aboard LST-306 landing tanks,
troops and equipment on Omaha Beach, Normandy.
