At the end of WWII, the 501st Bomb Group dropped supplies to allied prisoners on the Japanese mainland and the
outlying islands.
The painting shows a 501st B29 Super Fortress on one such mission.

In the production of this picture, Keith had much help from Mr Jerry White, the historian for the present day 501st
Combat Support Wing, at RAF Alconbury, England.
