During the Second World War 'The Racehorse', then known as 'The Black Swan', was
one of the favourite meeting places for the young men of the 303rd Bomb Group of the
U.S. 8th Air Force. After missions to Nazi occupied Europe and Germany, flown from
nearby RAF Molesworth, many would spend the evening here at the Racehorse.

Today RAF Molesworth is once again an active U.S. base and Chris and Shirley
welcome among their customers the men and women who are based there.

In an effort to keep the historic link alive Chris and Shirley have invited Keith to exhibit
some of his work suring Friday lunchtimes. Keith can often be seen working on one of
his latest paintings.
As it is now..............As it was then

In 2002 Keith was commissioned to paint 'The Racehorse' as it would have looked
during WWII. Prints are available and the original painting hangs in the pub.
